These past few weeks I’ve felt like I’m in quicksand. I’m working really hard, but not getting anywhere. Here is my third type poster…
Smith Hall has spirit, how bout you?
I finished my second typeface and poster so here it is. I have made 4 fonts this semester, but I think I will end up with only three posters by the end since they are so detailed and I’ve run out of time.
I think before finals, I may literally explode. I am having a very hard time with this Smith Hall project we are doing. I may end up doing a couple smaller projects instead of constantly working on just one. I took some pictures of Cornfeld’s work and I decided to post this picture of him cause it makes me laugh at a very stressful time in the semester…
I have been looking up some various photographers and decided to look more into Annie Leibovitz to see if there was more to her work than elaborate magazine spreads. I think with her large budget allowance and creativity she has made some attractive pieces for magazines and disney and so forth, but her personal photography of her family and friends is really great I think. I am much more drawn to her raw, un-magical, straight forward photos in more personal settings. She has some great ones of her father, mother, brother, lover, etc. and I wish there was more out there about this side of her.
We are making a series of photos in my photo 1 class that have to show some kind of narrative. I think I will buy some army men and create a war zone. I can even burn them to show signs of explosions…
I can’t believe the end of the semester is hitting me in the face. There seems to be so much to do in such a small time. I’ve changed my Smith Hall project idea again for seminar. Now I am going around taking pictures of graffiti that students leave in bathrooms, stairwells, etc. I think blowing them up real big and putting them all next to each other will have an interesting effect.
I made this and hung it up and someone stole it. So I guess it’s pretty good, I take it as a compliment.
